Coty, thanks for the link. I will have a look.
manleystanley, I don't understand. create a mpeg, then zip it but with explorer in details mode (no thumbnails, I think that's why you folder crash),and the details dropdwon box on the left closed.
May be you can open it with QuickTime (but no thumbnail)?
What version of Window media player do you have ?
what is your default application for mpg files ?
Does anybody else encounter this problem ? |

Winamp. It will play, it's just crashing windows thumbs. Sence I work with textures more then anything else I have windows set to display all folders as thumbs. I'll get it straight and send you a copy.
I'm starting on a new project so expect to see me in the "how to" forum quite a bit A testing track for the Type-s racing engine; now where near being a game yet. |

I do, dosen't matter it's the same at every site. I used to be logged in all the time on all sites. I was looking for something to clear the google seach; google never remembers a preset, but never fogets a search. Well History kill cleared it, then rest a bunch of stuff, I haven't gotten it all sorted out yet.
I'm logged in till I close my browser, then I have to log in everywhere again. |

got your mepg. The problem is the black box at the begining of the file ?
I will check this. I thing ppModeler is using the opengl back buffer to render, so what happen on screen should not be seen... will check. |

I have the explorer crash problem as well. Last I checked it was an issue with Windows Explorer and outdated or flawed video codecs. PPModeler isn't the problem. One way to fix it is to disable thumbnail view mode when using Explorer (use "view details" instead). |

As I said, I work alot with textures so I have all my folders set to display thumbs. Yes the problem is windows thumb viewer crashing the folder, but it shouldn't.
And beleave me none of my codecs are out of date or flawed. The mpeg plays, but the "process date" window is coming through on the mpeg as a black rectangle. I've also found out if I up the detail the mpeg wont crash my folder, I still have the black rectangle, and if I move it during rendering I have a blank render; no rendered/animated object. I'm in no big hury for this just yet, at least not till I figure out how to wrap a terrain file around a sphere |

For the black rectangle, you are right.
But for the folder crash, I really think this is a windows problem.
it is only an mpeg 2 file, nothing special in it.
I i have no problem in thumbnail mode with the mpeg file you sent me. |

Odd, I have other mpegs, no problem with them. But I have descovered it only does it if I use the default settings, If I adjust anything in the mpeg settings it dosen't happen. |

Ran Sherloc, says I have a lot of broken codecs ; most of which I have never heard of. So I may be able to fix it from my end, kinda makes me wonder how many cramp codecs are cluttering up my comp |
