I just downloaded the Windows beta version yesterday, so I'm still finding my way around the program. It looks very good
However,, I have so far noticed that clicking the Edit button in the material box causes a total lock-up. Ctrl/Alt/Del has no effect, and the machine has to be switched off and restarted . I'm using Win98SE (still!), so I don't know if more up-to-date versions of Windows show this problem.

Just to add that the freeze-up occurs with any attempt to access `materials', whether through the menu, the material box, or the material button (the round red blob on the top toolbar).

I have not tried this with an empty scene, but I will have a go.
I have since had similar problems to the above with the Decimation command (on the few times I have tried); frozen screen/keyboard/mouse requiring switch-off and re-start. The Decimation window opens (but empty), then the computer freezes.
These are the only problems I have so far come across, but as I have said, I'm a very new user. This is a beta version, so I did not expect that everything would work perfectly.
Hope this helps -- Mick. |

Sorry for the delayed reply (I've been away). Great news; I will download that beta and check it out a.s.a.p.
